Connective tissue massage is a so-called “reflex” technique.

Various movements (raking, massaging, clinching, pulling lines) send out a reflex arc. The treated area of skin is “connected”, that is to say innervated to the corresponding nervous level, which itself is interconnected to the organ or part of the body to be treated. From then on, the new impulses sent through the massage will help rebalance the dysfunction that the body is trying to regulate.
